How do rollovers take place?

by | Oct 6, 2017 | car accidents

There are many dangers to watch out for as a driver, from inclement weather to reckless people on the road who may be drunk or failing to observe the speed limit. However, rollovers are another major concern and are responsible for many of the lives that are lost due to auto accidents in Kentucky and across the U.S. If you are worried about finding yourself involved in a rollover, it may be useful to take a look at some of the reasons why these types of crashes take place.

According to data that was put together by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, nearly 75 percent of deadly rollovers took place on roads in rural areas throughout 2010. Various factors were found to have played a role in some of the rollover accidents, such as alcohol and excessive speeds. Moreover, some vehicles rolled over because the driver veered off of the road and onto soil, while others were the result of a driver swerving abruptly in an attempt to prevent a collision. Although rollover accidents can affect the drivers of any type of vehicle, some are especially prone to rollovers, such as vans, SUVs, and pickup trucks.

If you were hurt in a rollover accident that happened because of another driver’s carelessness or negligence, you should not feel helpless. Recovering from any kind of motor vehicle accident can be very hard, but there may be certain options for some victims of these wrecks, such as legal action, depending on what took place.
